Yep! and the line used to go from beyond Hopton, and I believe and as far as Newport. The path is certainly navigable on a bike from Beaconside all the way to Gnosall if you are prepared to carry it occaisionally.Doctor said:The cycle track from Castletown through Doxey Marshes, past the Common and out to Beaconside is named Isabel trail after the Stafford's little locomotive - although it never went along that old railway.
Was it Gullit?? Gullit (mourihno's dog) has rabies so you may wanna get checked out!Biggin said:Last time I was on the cycle track i was walking my dog up to the castle and a terrier, off it's leash run at me and bit my leg and bum, my dog was crap and tried to run away.
Bizarre that isabel trail is an anagram of 'is anal biter'
Where would you suggest it starts then Doc?Doctor said:What it really needs though is for the Stafford end to start somewhere sensible rather than at the end of a farm track off Martin Drive!
Sorry, we won't be able to help this weekend as we're going to woolly Wales to see the folks!Doctor said:They next meet up this Sunday at 10am at the County Council's Riverway site car park to do stuff along the route out to Baswich. more here...

"nee nee na noo" as Mork once said to Mindy.
yes, I lived on coton hill from the age of 5 to 16 and many a happy hour sneaking up there to look at the nutters.MISS T said:age'd parent, going by your personal details, do you remember this place?TENSHON said:I stumbled across this pic and thought it was Wayne Manor for a minute.. It was to be known as The institution for the Insane of Staffordshire and the Adjacent Counties. The hospital was built in a Tudor style and features included its own chapel, cinema and dance hall, sports facilities, gardens, orchards for growing fruit and vegetables and farm. The building remained until 1976 when, apart from the chapel and the lodges, it was demolished and the new District General Hospital was built on the site.

It was only on researching the old archives that I found the building once existed.
OOOOO! Yes Miss T, The Venearable Mrs Seed and I had a sabatical of 12 months, (less said the better) during the early 80's and the lass I was seeing at the time had a room in Richard Hall's House, and I saw a lot of him. Smashing Fella, and we all thought they had made it big when they signed to factory. Shame factory folded and the dream disappeared.MISS T said:The 'First Album' thread got me thinking and this came back to me http://www.cerysmaticfactory.info/once_upon_a_time_the_end.html
Do you remember The Adventure Babies? A mix of Stafford and Manchester guys, they were going well and about to 'make it big' when the record company went bust. Played loads around Stafford back in the early 90s. Gon2seed will know the wife of Rich Hall the electric and double bass player, as she's a fellow firefighter.
Memories. . . .
