(Something tells me I'm a bit out of date on this one.)
You got the usherette job, then? Not everyone wants to be a miserable sod though
Did you receive a 'poultry' service? Our last trip to Stafford Cinema was absolutely foul (within the last month) so bring on a bit of luxury
I can see how people were excited in 1937 when the Odeon arrived in Stafford, but who cares now? .
It was clucking grim.Did you receive a 'poultry' service?
Nothing is going to rejuvenate the north end as a shopping venue, it’d be flogging a dead horse
Even in my capacity as Miserable Old Sod, I can see that for a few months at least this 'thing' will be very busy, but in the longer term I'm not convinced it will help clear the tumbleweeds at the north end of town. The opposite, I suspect.
Is that the residential redevopment of the north? Thought that was years away?Well as the cinema is at the south end it will not an ounce of impact on the north end. The council has a bigger plan for that and thankfully it doesn't involve retail.
Plus it is a cinema so will not solve all of town issues and will not have any impact on the retail element, that is a dying breeding nationally which will only continue.
It will improve the night life and Stafford as an evening destination, no question about that. People will continue to go and it won't make it worse.
