Wanted Old Metal Motor Oil Container(s)

How do I edit this?
I quite fancy making myself one of these:

But unfortunately all the motor oil I've purchased recently has been in little polythene containers. If anyone has one or two proper ones kicking around in the garage I'd be extremely grateful.

British oil cans would tend to be taller and thinner than these rather squat US ones - would that matter?

e.g.

I know a couple of garage-owners and will endeavor to inquire as to the possibilities of any such cans being available today..

The guitars? Yeah, that's where the tradition (for want of a better word) originates. I'm pretty sure I shouldn't have to go that far for an oil can though & there's a bit of 2x3 in the shed that I can just feel wants to be turned into a guitar neck....

Right, my investigations have confirmed that metal oil cans are, indeed, rare these days, but cans in the same style are still used for other substances, mostly of a solvent nature. I have obtained, from Paul at PME Motors an Astonfields, a pristine Wynn's Brake and Clutch Cleaner can. Perhaps not ideal, stylistically, but it does carry some colourful warning symbols.

This has been left behind the bar at Joxer's - in the care of some gruff, beardy bloke - as I am aware that you have been excluded from the O.G. area recently..

It seemed the best way of delivering it. Rushing, masked, into your place of employment and lobbing a solvent tin over the counter was considered, but I thought that it might have got an over-excited response.

It might be worth taking the finished product to PME Motors, as I'm sure that Paul didn't actually believe me and is suspicious that it's all the start of some bizarre practical joke - on him...

It actually had it's first outing on the Thursday just gone, but I've only just now found time to shoot the little video... alas I'll be away from Jam night for a few weeks now, but it will be back when I am. I'll PM you the date so I can buy you that drink!
