One you haven't heard for ages.

Somewhere, there are two women, who must be well in their sixties now, who still treasure their Steve Winwood autographs that they got their manageress to ask him for, when they were working in the kitchen of a transport café on the A1 in the mid-1960s.

Hopefully, they never have them authenticated, as "Steve" was actually Tony, a friend of mine, who still lives in Newport and he just hadn't got the heart to tell them that he wasn't really the great man, so he signed the two autographs for the girls...

The poet Ian McMillan was at the Poly in the '70s and wrote a play about Jake - Sister Josephine Kicks The Habit.

I have a vague 'memory' of Jake playing at Stychfields, but I can find no supporting evidence - he certainly played at other venues around this area.

I have been almost entirely incapacitated by my shitsack of a back for the past few days.

I was really feeling like i may have turned a corner, but was worried it may have been the ibuprofen talking.

Was i riding on the Nurofen Express?

Fingers crossed, i'm... erm... back.

Now...

I heard this today on Stafford FM - and it really was one of those 'haven't heard this one in ages' moments.

Further thoughts on the matter led me to ponder, then to be sure 'pon it, that this was actually the very last thing i bought on vinyl - possibly some EP type affair with some early 're-mixed' by... that sort of thing.

Which has JUST NOW set me to thinking that - Withnail old chap, aren't there all sorts of vinyl afficionados out there these days that would proper LOVE some of the discs in your possession?

To which i answered - you know what, other Withnail, there probably are.

My vinyl days are long gone, but i do have some quality offerings - not the Jem one, obviously - if there are any folk out there who would care for them?

If you want some, come and get some - i'll make some sort of inventory if time allows over the weekend if that would help.

I know, for example, that @kyoto49 might be interested, but seeing as zhe has 'ignored' me zhe is obviously out of the running. But i'm sort of sure there are other enthusiasts out there that might be interested?

They keep playing this in the co op.

It's actually quite moving - the writer's first born was spirited away to an acute ward, hence the 'wires' coming out and all that.

Their first album was much more fun, but sometimes life intervenes.

The other day i heard it, again, and i was almost sure i had the album on my player at home, and i was right.
