Parking in Stafford.

Sainsbury's is my preferred supermarket. But I'd never go to the one in Stafford. Not only does it involve coming into Stafford but I also have to have cash (apart from £10 notes for match day parking, I've not had cash on me since 2019). So Cannock or Shrewsbury it is for me.

You can use your phone or contacless card for parking.

Don't need the hassle of the traffic or having to pay frankly.

Don't get me wrong, Sainsbury's in Stafford is a great place and I've always found all the staff to be very polite and nice.

However if you pay by card and use self checkout, you slowly gather £1 coins.

Despite hating carrying cash and wishing they’d add a card payment option, I’ve ended up just carrying a single pound coin for the odd Sainsbury’s visit… of course the council are increasing the charge soon so that’ll be pretty irritating as it’ll no doubt be something awkward.

Use the card /cash self scans on the left hand..... You can get rid of those hateful coins in there to pay for your shopping... 😁 Or use the dirty buggers to release a trolly 🤣

*As I might write on my 'dull man's site' that I follow... F, 53, shoe size 6, would get rid of paper/coin money given half a chance....

Oh yeah I suppose I could put the coin towards paying for the shopping as a way to get it back into the account 🤔

Anyone know what the fine is for over staying on asda? Spent 2 hours at the optician and completely forgot :(

Thought it is 2 hours! But I could be wrong! Sorry if I am.
The fine used to be £60; £30 if you pay within a specified period of time, sorry can't remember how long that is either. 🤔 Could be six days!
Hope that has been of at least of some help!

We were there for 2:20 in total I think, didn't realise til leaving. Was a very thorough eye exam that highlighted some issues, then problems ordering the frames etc. Everything just ran on

If you go in and speak to them they might be able to void the charge, they were able to do that if you had an extended stay there during that time where they tried to do a parking charge

I asked my mum who works there, asda can no longer do anything regarding charges since the car park owner hanged hands apparently :(

When son was a manager in a maccies here in Worcester, which had a carpark owned by a private parking firm for the retail park he could get parking fines overturned. Asda should be able to do it ....

Self-inflicted.

It’s that old thing of “buy the company using its own credit”, which is very oversimplified but essentially you borrow to buy and then transfer the debt to the company you just bought.
And the ASDA owner also owns Stonegate who have the Grapes and the Coach and Horses nearby.
Worrying times !
