PCC Election 2016.

proactive

Enjoying a drop of red.
I understand that this election is being run on what they're calling a Supplementary Vote system, where you can vote for your first and second choice.
Second choice!!!!

I can't even find a first choice.

Bunch of lames.

How Supplementary Vote works.

You get a column for your favourite* candidate, and another column for your supplementary second choice.

* or least unfavourite...

There were only two candidates last time, so it didn't apply here then.

Perhaps best to check with the bouncers tomorrow, @PeterD - I've never done a Supplementary Vote election before - in a proper STV election, you can vote for as many, or as few, as you wish to.

Will do, I am only going to cheer up the ladies, I think the last PCC elections there was me and and a squirrel that ended up voting. The turnout was that high due to its proximity to my slimming world group. This week its down to its proximity to my dog walk route.

When I went last time, they were running at less than a person every quarter of an hour...

Yes it was pretty bad, I draw the line at x factor but otherwise I will pretty much vote on anything.

It occurs to me that nobody has even tried to canvas my vote. Not even a slip through the door. It's almost as if they know nobody cares.

If anyone cares, they'd go and find out about each candidate, themselves.

When you're buying a car, you do some research, look around, get the a feel for what'd be best for you.
When you're booking a holiday, you do some research, look around, get the a feel for what'd be best for you.
When taking out insurance, you do some research, look around, get the a feel for what'd be best for you.
When you're looking for a mortgage provider, you do some research, look around, get the a feel for what'd be best for you.
When you're thinking of having a chippy takeaway, you do some research, look around, get the a feel for what'd be best for you.

We live in an information world, we have every tiny bit of information at our fingertips, one click of a button (or a few clicks) and you can find what you really after.

I don't want anyone knocking on my door canvassing for votes thank you very much, and a good day to you sir (or madam).

I thought I'd had one last night, but it turned out to be a Vote Leave leaflet - it just looked 'Labour' - all red borders, etc...

Three and a half hours in, I was the twentieth person to cast a vote at my station. At about the same point last time, I was number eleven.

Is it really impossible to have held this election in tandem with another, slightly less unreal election?
