The Railway seems to be shut and local rumour has it that it is going to become a dentists.
10 years ago the Railway was a thriving pub/restaurant providing a much needed facility for the village, then Punch took over and positioned it significantly downmarket where it competed with several other pubs in the village. For much of the time since then management has been poor and during the last year incompetent.
Being run by a management company for Punch, I believe, they actually got done for not having a premises supervisor/licensee at one point.
I bet the new dentist doesn't take NHS patients, and the village only has two private dentists already
