Well..that's very informative. Any chance of you elaborating for those of us who cannot read your mind, basil?

I know what you're on about as I've read a news article about it. You're heading into Marwood waters with such a vague post.

Is that the start of a song, or are you refering to this?

http://www.metro.co.uk/news/866700-tory-mp-philip-davies-says-disabled-should-offer-to-work-below-minimum-wage

If it's the latter then the word you are looking for is TWAT!

I guess even his boss is a little put out by this. Should we not deduct money from his MP's salary for being a dickhead

Interestingly his comments were made in the house, personally I will judge the leadership by it's response.........

Already saw the 'People should be allowed to opt out of the minimum wage' thing, this just looks like a who is the biggest cock contest now.

Seems to me that the tories have always been opposed to the idea of a minimum wage. Any way to undermine it is 'on the table', clawing back any concession that has gone the wrong way.

Rolling back the frontiers of the state(mented).

I like the way they insist final salary pensions must be scrapped too, apart from their own which was topped up with over 50m of taxpayers money a few years ago. We're all in this together!

He was on telly squirming last night. I hope his constituency surgery is full today with angry disabled people.

I like him. He has a point if you can bring yourself to think about it!

I don't really think he has.
What he is saying is that some people are so unattractive to employers that they have sell themselves for less than everyone else, that they are worth less.
How does this fit in with the laws on discrimination? Can disabled people be paid less, purely because they are disabled?
No.

The only point he raises is "Is it right to have a National Minimum Wage?"

Really, that's it - if you can bring yourself to think about it, ultimately that is his point.

Well, is it?

In all fairness basil, this is not exactly how Nazi Germany started - inasmuch as the disabled never got a chance to prove that they could be worked to death before being killed.

A minor point i know, but progress nonetheless.

The guy has a number of issues http://www.guardian.co.uk/politics/2009/dec/18/philip-davies-political-correctness-campaign

I guess he has a limited political future. Probably loved by the local white middle aged conservative party. He has all the hallmarks of a closet BNP member
