i'm pretty sure Al Karim have done an "all day breakfast" pizza for years, complete with fried egg in the middle lol.. dunno if they still do it, but i defo remember seeing one on the menu back in the day.. that being said, assuming their menu is halal, i doubt there's any pork on it.. or black pudding, for that matter..
Wonder what the 'ham' and pineapple, meat feast etc. have one them? I presume some sort of pork replacement. Actually I don't really wanna think about it lol
all places like that have "all our ham is reformed turkey" or something similar on the menus! let's face it, if they get away with doner "meat" then they can pretty much say what they want lol..

Haha fair point.. gotta love that MRM!

Now I think about it though, you're right, I'm sure I've read that on menus before.

All this talk about Pizza in the Ford, and no mention of Pizza Express! Ok it can be prizee, but I have had some great scram there in fantastic surroundings, I wait for peoples re-education, am I just posh? As a veggie Pizza places are great, and at the Hut u can get a salad! Romance is fantastic, but has anyone had a pizza from the newish italian Viverie, one up Stone Road?

Hmm, can't you use tesco vouchers at Pizza Express? I have nearly 40 quids worth, thats £160 of scram!

Domino's
Pros
- Garlic & Herb dip - this shiz is like crack, yo!
- Texas BBQ and The Sizzler - 2 pizzas that just can't be matched elsewhere
- Always tidy deals to be found (i'm currently rinsing a 50% off voucher that lasts 'til next year)
- They deliver
Totally agree on the Garlic and Herb tips, they are tops, I always order 5 or 6 extra! Chicken strippers rock and so does the garlic pizza bread!

Pizza hut is ace for a sit down pizza.

I went to Ginos when it was Ginos, it was a bit tasteless to be honest.

well, if i had to to sum up my Perfect Pizza experience in one word, it would have to be disappointment i'm afraid..

did a BOGOF on a regular pizza (which wasn't really a BOGOF, cos we had to pay a £1 "delivery" charge on the second pizza).. "regular" was defined as 9 inches.. well, if this pizza was 9" then my missus should count herself lucky cos i've clearly been woefully underselling myself.. i seriously regret not taking a pic of the pizzas that arrived, because they were laughable..

fortunately, we got a "wings & wedges" combo on the side, which was very nice.. the pizzas themselves, despite being diminutive in size, were very nice.. we got the Sheer Perfection and the Smoky BBQ, as mentioned in my earlier post.. no complaints taste-wise, but if i had have paid the menu price of £10.75 for one of these i would have been seriously pissed off! they were literally about the size of one of those cuffy economy pizzas you get in packs of 10 in the frozen section of supermarkets..

so, in summary: Perfect Pizza tasted very nice, but is definitely not value for money (even when using a voucher) and i can't for a minute understand how they are still doing business after all these years when you can get more food, of a higher quality, from Domino's or Pizza Hut for less money!

about to go and pick up one of those half and half's you recommended db
let me know how you got on.. i should have mentioned, you get 25% off collection orders over £20 at pizza hut, so it's always worth ordering up to £20 imo, cos you'll probably end up spending nearly £15 anyway without the discount!

Well what a bitterly disappointing service from pizza hut :(

I probably failed by using the online ordering in all honesty however I ordered the half and half you told me to, with the exception of the corn swap and i also swapped the olives for more cheese.

Well what did i get? A cold (only 25 mins between ordering and collecting) pizza and two really really shitty cold sides. Thing and crispy base with no stuffed crust. minimal cheese but olives all over it, not just on one side. thay also neglected to give me my dips and drink until I prompted them.

Anyway I didn't realise the majority of this until i got home by which time i wasn't in the mood for going back so I ate it.

And it tasted shite. Literally awful, I would have sooner have had an al karim's pizza.

They weren't even that busy when I went to collect it (well busy enough to make, cook and let go cold a pizza in 25 minutes).

Sides = awful.

Also due to the shitty thin base it was about as filling as a weightwatchers ready meal grilled on a george foreman.

I have had many many great experiences with the hut when dining inside, this will be the last takeaway experience I have from them though I think.

TBH the toppings sound like they would be real nice if cooked to be eaten at the resteraunt (i.e. high chance of return as you actually see your food before you take it away ;) ) so i might go back next weekend for it, depending on whether my phone call to the manager tonight is fruitful.

Anyone had grievences with PH before and if so how easy was it to get renumeration?

I can't fault Romance...much prefer them to Domino's and Perfect Pizza. Can't comment on Pizza Hut as haven't had one for about 10 years!

renumeration
It's remuneration you're after there mate!

:eng101:

edit: Remuneration relates to payment for employment, so it's not even the right word in the first place! Sorry...got my pedantic head on today :)

no, that's how we do it! we have pizza hut at least once a month, usually more, and always order online.. unless we want to make use of the 25% off mentioned earlier, in which case we have to fall back to the more archaic phone method..

ah, forgot about the minging olives.. yeah, we always swap them for sweetcorn, or chillies or something..

sorry to hear that, homes :(

did they not check it before you left? every single time we have collected from there, without exception, they have thoroughly checked the order, unprompted, before they would let us leave.. they've only ever got it wrong once, when they didn't swap the tomatoes out for sweetcorn, and they cooked us up a new one in about 10 minutes and plied us with free drinks while we waited :)

what sides did you have? their wings are cack imo (really fatty), but i love their wedges and their chicken strips.. far superior to domino's imo - the wedges are crispy & fluffy rather than squishy, and the chicken strips look like real breast meat, rather than reconstituted "nuggets"..

that's personal preference, i guess.. i love their thin base pizzas.. although, obviously not when they're cold, and covered in olives lol..

that's a shame; as you can probably tell, i have nothing but praise for them and have only been disappointed once (and that was because i foolishly allowed my sister to collect it, who has no concept of time)..

as i say, on the couple of occasions where they have got things wrong, i have always been very happy with the way they handled things..

domino's impressed me the most in that respect, though.. they messed up one of our orders a while ago (missed off half the toppings we asked for).. i phoned up to complain, expecting to get a free side with our next order or something (which i would have been happy with).. instead, we got our next order completely free! large pizza, couple of sides, dips - totally free! well played, domino's - well played

Well frankly pizza hut can suck my danglies, literally no apology or anything, apparently its my fault for ordering incorrectly!!! It would appear that selecting a base and then selecting toppings cancels out your base request and also vice versa?! Well thats bollocks because i just reconstructed my order online and you know what? It seems to have gone in fine. The copy of my order they emailed to me included all of my changes and my base selection.

Going down there tonight to have it out with the manager.

Edit: No, when i got served at the counter some 12 year old grunted "are you the web order?" and then almost threw my order at me with a 'fanx mate' and then she disappeared before I could even speak. I'd imagne its something to do with the age/rate of pay of said employee as much as anyting, and having worked at dominos at an equally tender age I can't really blame them.

I agree with you in the respect that normally they are good, as I said I have eaten there many times (usually the one on festy park) and love it. I was genuinely excited when PH came to stafford. When it opened I had a meal in there and it was superb, really nice!

Sod it, I will go back this weekend and possibly sit in and eat this time, although I will be scrutinising my order before eating lol - pizza hut has only failed me this once and every other time has been so good its a shame to boycott based on the attitude of one 12 year old. Amazed it was cold though - do they not keep the pizzas on a warm rack or anything?

For the sides I had the chicken thins and the wedges. I imagine the wedges would have been tasty hot. Didn't think much of the chicken though, in fact my rats enjoyed three of them.

My brother thinks i'm being too picky here, but as I said above an al karims pizza would have beaten what I got on sunday :teef:

i'm very surprised at this tbh.. i can't believe they weren't very apologetic, etc, especially seeing as you have emailed confirmation of what you ordered! either they have gone massively downhill in the last couple of weeks, or you have caught them at a particularly bad time, customer service wise..

one can't help but wonder if part of it is perhaps because of the way you handled the complaint on the phone? you are known for looking down on people, and your hot temper, after all lol.. still, even if you were the most hideous, obnoxious customer ever (which i'm sure you were nowhere near), you were still in the right and they should have offered to compensate you imo!

haha I'm actually quite the diplomat, when it comes to getting what I want I am very good at leading conversations - don't forget I'm a project manager so actually have to deal with incompetants all day every day without letting on I think they're useless.

I was very nice to the person who I spoke to who informed me the manager was otherwise engaged at the time however she was't too enthusiasic about listening to my problem and and explained the website issue which I checked up on and its bollocks. Google doesn't appear to have many other stories of online ordering woe.

I probably spoke to the same teenager who didn't want to deal with me when I was picking up the order, I'm sure if I speak to someone in charge say a supervisor or the manager I will get a better response. I doubt the person was trained to properly deal with complaints or really gave a shite lol

Oh well, c'est la vie. Normally I cannot be arsed with stuff like this but it was £16 for an unsatisfying meal and I could have got the same thing from dominos for around £13. Also I cannot recall an occassion where dominos screwed up an order bar the time they neglected to include a bottle of coke, which they delivered about 15 minutes later with a bunch of vouchers. superb.

yeah, hopefully you will have more joy when you speak to someone with half a brain.. i was faced with one of the checkout teenagers refusing to accept an online voucher once, and a blonde girl called Jo came along (i assume she was a manager/supervisor of sorts) and sorted it out very swiftly and politely.. fingers crossed you get to speak to her, or at least someone with synergistic pro-active soft skills :teef:

yep, defo agree with the domino's sentiment, as per my previous tale of free-pizza-related joy :)

Have to agree on the dominoes... Chikken Tikka pizza is good.

Favourite sit down has got to be Pizza Express. Its the only way to spend your tesco vouchers. You have got to have the Etna on a Romana base, simply the nicest tasting "open flat sandwich" you can eat.....

And just to mix things up a bit I had a Spicey 9" from the Alis the other day. I was a bit dubious as it always used to be my "drunked" pizza but it wasnt half bad!

i was never brave enough to try the tikka pizza! the peri peri one put me off their "novelty" pizzas, cos they laid the sauce on way too thick and it was mingaling.. i might have to give it a go one of these days, though (if they still do it)..
