Planned council spending

Never ceases to amaze me how much people complain about council spending. None of that seems out of place, or that expensive to me. People just like to bash the council... Both SBC and SCC waste money on far more ridiculous things than listed above. Do an FOI request on consultants fees at SCC for example..

I can imagine, paper for one thing, they should buy a load of iPads stick all their documents on Dropbox and scrap all the printers.

I'm assuming you don't work for a company that is audited continuously then, or has to be transparent? Dropbox is not the way to store documents...

I think MarkMH was joking ..... unless he can point us to a similar organisation that has done this already.

Some very large brands use cloud storage such as P&G, Taylor Made, Balfour Beaty etc.... source http://box.com/resources/case-studies/

Can you imagine the outcry from the council bashers if they gave all staff iPads. As it happens though I believe SCC are trialling just that with some councillors to save money sent on paper.

I agree with the need for the cafe in the Leisure Centre. The reception area is a waste of space and probably should have had a cafe. They could make quite a lot of money providing food as all the kids are hungry after swimming. Probably none of the councillors use the leisure centre.
