Recommendations for local fencing company

A few posts under my belt
We need to get a new garden fence put up, we've had a couple of verbal quotes and we decided to go with one of those, but it's been two weeks (and several phonecalls) since we asked for a written quote and some dates when he can do the work. He's either very busy and disorganised or just very unreliable!

So we thought we'd try and get another quote and see how that goes. Has anyone had a fence put up recently, and would you recommend them?

i have experienced what you've been through here, i've learned not to give these idiots a second chance, i never ring them after an initial meeting when we've left it at them contacting me, if they haven't rang me i never chase them up, i'm always head scratching on how these guys make a living if they treat prospective customers in this way.
Learn from this and don't chase anyone up who you were about to give your hard earned money to.

I had a lovely picket fence done by SandonSawMill, i'll recommend them.

Saying that, if Bob gives you the quote you're looking for then i'd go with him, he can hardly afford a bad job if all you have to do is come back on here and say so eh.

On a serious note, somebody that I know had a fence put in with panels slid into grooved concrete posts and got up the next morning to find that all the panels had been slid out and stolen.

Yeah some of the tradesmen can be so poor at getting back to you. It can be annoying. The guy that did my fence didn't come back to hang the gate the week after as promised (more fool me for paying him that day).
Only good thing is some of them are so poorly organised they actually forget to get paid! I've had a new internal door hung and the chap never came back to finish off and get paid. I've also had a new aerial fitted and the chap never came back to get paid - having said that I haven't seen the rather expensive watch I had for my 18th birthday since then either.... I was tempted when I saw the guys van on parkside recently to have a word about that - half expected the watch to be on his wrist!
