If you've tried all the Stafford vets, then give these a call - http://countyvets.org.uk/friarswood.htm

When we had geckos this was the nearest reptile specialist to Stafford - couple of years ago now, mind.

thanks i'll have another ring around . from what i've found out she has dry gangrene on her tail..she's definatly going to have to have her tail amputated or even euthenised. she seemed fine yesterday, i was a little concerned about peeling on her tail. now her tail is all shrivelled, dry and brittle..looks like it gonna snap off

Been reccomended Taylor and Marshall myself, but my beardie died before I could get an appointment :(

Also the one in Shiftnall is well thought of, but I've not been. The beardie was the only herp that ever got ill, but after he went I kinda lost the entheusiasm. In fact the geckos shoes mentions were mine I believe.

lizzies tail has gotten worse since saturday and the infection has spread further up her tail and started to affect her legs. she is unlikly to make is through the op and decided to put her down.
the incident happened about 2 month ago when my son trapped lizzies tail in her tank door. there seemed to be no injury to her tail up until friday night when quit a large area of thick skin was peeling off. since then her whole tail has has shrunk inwards on its self, gone all hard and black revealing the vertebrate in her tail.it could actually just snap.

Really sorry to hear that. I was way more upset losing my beardie than with the split with my GF I was going through at the time. They are lovely creatures :(

im going to miss her . most people think beardies dont have any personality or affection , but i disagree. i loved lizzie and so did my son. she was a special member of our family and she will be missed. she was always escaping from her tank and going to sleep with the cats. when i fed her she would always whip her head around after and give that look of appriechiation. shes irreplacable.
thank u all for your kindness. its nice to know there are people that do appriechiate beardies. some people i know have been very insensitive about lizzie and feel her life is not important

I had similar, lots of people think reptiles can't have a personality. Quite odd really as one of them had cats! My geckos knew me, and would come to the door if I opened it and would struggle with each other to jump onto my hand, but not anyone elses. They all acted differently, and Zim (my beardie) loved to watch TV.

Only got a snake now, and they aren't as easy to attribute emotions to!
