What we know so far -

i) The initial application was approved
ii) That decision was subject to a Judicial Review
iii) SBC ceded that it was wrong to give said approval on the 'technical' grounds that the correct environmental impact assessment - or some such - hadn't been included in application 1.0
iv) Application 1.1 - now with added hundreds and thousands and a cherry on the top - is approved
v) That decision is in doubt, subject to scrutiny from the SoS for Approved Pudding Toppings
vi) SoS for APT deems it unnecessary to be 'called in', so application 1.1 can go ahead
vii) Application 1.1 does not go ahead

What we don't know so far -

i) Why application 1.1 has not gone ahead - cf vi) ^above
ii) Why nobody knows why i)

Because you do not go from green slip to yellow digger in a few weeks when the scale ( geddit ) and nature ( geddit) of the building is so large and so reliant on otherbuggersmoney.

My (conspiracy) theory is that Sport England has been summoned to the naughty chair by the government (aka Lottery fund), so the rugby club donation has been put back in the mattress for safe keeping while the misunderstandings are being sorted out.

Harking back to post #1080 - not to be confused with any aspect of ratios - the Secretary of State for Pudding washed his hands of the affair on 16/06, so not really that long ago.

One wonders whether Swampy would be prepared to get marshy.

All falling into place now. Sainsburys will be moving into what was going to be the new rugby clubhouse on Doxey Marsh, with Lord Sta££ord as general manager.
