I'm training for the Stafford half so I'm running several different distances/routes. I did 9 miles on Sunday from Baswich down to Milford, up the Brocton Road and back along the A34.

I normally plan them on www.mapmyrun.com Its a useful site as you can search for routes uploaded by others local to you, or create your own (the follow roads tool on the mapping is genius!

Also, if you have an iPhone (or possibly other smart phones) then they have a free app that uses gps to track your routes, times, distance etc. All of that is uploaded onto the main site so you can track your progress.
Hey, thanks for that, i have used that site before, must start using it again!

Good luck with the stafford half marathon, was going to do it myself .. but i had a break from running- just started recently again.. and i cant even do 3 miles without walking a tiny bit, getting less each day though..!

Will have to be next year now, haha.

I was gonna have a go, but there again a year ago I was going to attempt 50 over 10k runs before I was fifty, (in March next year!) Two sore achilles put paid to that mad idea! and I hadn't even gone as far as one!

(Sad old fecker :pig: , ! all togther now Ahhh! :barf: Ed )

You probably just needed to build it up slowly and get your gait measured so your trainers provide the right support!

As once said by Billy Wright - there is no better training ground than Cannock Chase. We're very lucky to have such a facility on our doorstep. Some of the hills have nearly beaten me a few times!
