well, this was.. interesting..

it was billed as having 3 acts, but one of them seemed to just be the MC/compère - an australian chap who was a bit crap, tbh.. the first real act was jimmy o aka the wigan joker.. he staggered on, feigning mental impairment, and you could tell everyone in the audience thought "oh jesus, this is gonna be awful" after his first two "jokes".. but that was obviously a deliberate diversionary tactic, because the rest of his act was proper laugh-out-loud funny :D well, actually, i say "feigning mental impairment," but he left the MET at the same time as our group, and was on the phone to what sounded like his missus, and he sounded and spoke exactly like he did on stage lol..

the last act was jim tavaré, who was brilliant.. as soon as he came on, which a massive cello, i turned to my sister and said "christ, what's this? 'the hills have eyes', the musical??".. and the first thing out of his mouth was "i bet you all are thinking 'what's this, 'the hills have eyes' the musical?'" lol

all in all, a good night, plenty of laughs, but the main "act"/MC/compère was a deeply unhappy individual (which i know most good comedians are, but in his case it didn't translate to good comedy - he just seemed like he didn't want to be there)..

i'd defo go again, though
