Have you tried this function? What does it actually do?

Does it hide their posts, but give the option to view? What about when somebody else quotes them? Etc?

It says "you are ignoring content from this member click here to view" or summink similar, easy to setup and take off, I just tried it.

Bummer! You shouldn't leave though :< Quite shocked to see a massive debate on a hunt to give a lovely animal a home though. *gulps*

Lol that's nothing - I think the big benefits and employment thread still holds the record for the the most heated debate in the forum's history.

Terrible news....
Would be very sad to see you go WMR
Am currently on holiday, so have not followed any posts lately.
But i personnaly think all post should be always civil and honest. (or tried at least)
Some people say thinks on forums they would not say face to face.
If harresment is not allowed on the streets, it should also be frowned upon here.

Just had a great troll on another forum I use. Got annoyed, because he thought that canadian murderer the other day did a worse thing when he killed a kitten than he did when he killed his gay lover. Apparently kittens are innocent, but gays arent. When he got banned he re-registered and sent porn to all our personal message boxes.

That one is now with the police.

I haven't been on the Forum for very long and tend to lurk rather than post but I think that the Forum will be a poorer place without wmrcomputers and I hope that he reconsiders his decision to leave.

I was one one of those that disagreed with him on the kitten post and now feel that if you can't discuss something on a forum without being called a troll or harassing someone then what is the point?

If everyone flounced off when a debate gets heated then there wouldn't be anyone left to discuss things with.

We are all different, with different views and should be allowed to express that point of view.

Anything personal or vindictive is obviously totally out of order but an exchange of opinions is rarely going to result in everyone agreeing.

I am beginning to feel that as a relative newcomer I am perhaps not permitted to have strong opinions and should be on my best behaviour until I have been here longer.

For the record I actually liked WRMs posts even if I didn't agree with everything he said.

Hothouse Flower, having read the thread quite dispassionately I feel that one person was not allowing others to express any opinion that disagreed with his/her views and was getting personal & vindictive about it. That person was not you, your views, although obviously strongly held, were reasonably put. Experience on other sites suggest that it may be as well to be on reasonably good behaviour when new. I am concerned that I am sticking my neck out with this post but feel that "Kittens" got out of hand.

Right. I re-enacted 'Kittens' because I became aware that the SADPALS operation was coming to an end and I felt that Vault Girl should be made aware that her reservations were being addressed. I am prepared, at great personal risk, to have a word with Mrs Wmr to tell him to reconsider - we'll see....
