Secure caravan storage in Stafford area?

We keep our caravan at PYE Green, they are a strange bunch but I can only say that it is the most secure site I have seen. There is a thick rolling steel gate that similar to what I see at Nuclear power stations. There is a rather big vicious looking guard dog who greets you on a thick chain the other side of the gate its like going to the lion pen in west Midlands safari park, keep your windows and doors locked until you pass him! The site is really big and access to each pitch is great with all the vans being at an angle so easy to back in and easy to hook and go. The site is covered in CCTV and there is steel fencing all the way around with a 6ft mound of earth the other side. Any would be theives would need to clear this first with a JCB! (There are other digger brands available). This is a 'gold' award site which means your insurance premiums are less when declaring where you store your van. This comes at a cost though storage is payable annually at 410 pounds for a standard pitch in may. Otherwise you can pay in 2 installments. Recently the site has opened up a great accessory shop that sells everything and well worth a look around and also sells Calor gas which seems very cheap to most other places. At the entrance is also a very reasonably priced garden centre which is excellent.... something for the whole of the family.. The kids can think they are at the safari park :monkeydance:and the lady of my life can rummage amongst the bedding plants? Poor old me will struggle trying to back the Van into position on my own!

seriously though this is the best storage around here. I tried the one at Weston on the A51 and when I asked about CCTV the Woman on the end of the phone laughed and asked "what do you expect for 280 Quid a year".....mmm .... Our best friends were unfortunate to store their new van there to their peril. The van was only there 3 months and the Police came knocking asking him if he had a caravan. Police in Leeds had come across a van with his number plate thrown to the side.... The van had been stripped of all appliances and wrecked... The owners of Weston caravan storage had not even bothered to contact him. Apparently the gate at the storage had been angle ground of its post just metres away from the owners house? Me smells a rat...:monkeydance:

Used the one behind Davies garage, mine was broken into and the owner, who actually lives directly behind me, did not inform me. I had a phone call from the Police about three months later to say they were closing the case, first I knew about it. Turned out two high spec caravans were stolen and a few broken into. Also the owner would not remove a dead cat, after being informed, and I eventually buried it.

There are actually two places, the above refers to the one on on the left when driving down besides the garage.
I now use Cotes Heath Caravan Storage, (Moorfields) which have a night watchman and the office is open during the daytime. Slighter further but they are in COSSA and cheaper.

like they say, you get what you pay for, I know that midland caravan storage are usually full, but there is a new compound from the same people at grindley business park at this linkwww.grindleycaravanandstorage.co.uk there is on site 24 hr security, however it might cost more than £1 per day. Like I said you get what you pay for...

So here we are again, I am looking for some storage for my motorhome, currently by WR Davies and hoping to move it elsewhere. Pye Green look excellent but they arent accessible 24/7. does anyone have any suggestions outside of the ones on this thread, sadly they are either too far away, not 24/7 access or not suitable. I have emailed the one on Tixall Road but unsure if they still do it.

Enjoying a drop of red.
We are using Pye Green now for the Motorhome. About £600 a year if I remember right plus we get them to do an exterior valet most months.

True they aren't open 24hrs but will open by arrangement outside business hours. Obviously if you want to pick up or drop off at 3am regularly that might be an issue but it's not proved one for us.

Thats the only problem for me unfortunately. Pretty much every week I pick my motorhome up at 6.30am on a friday. Their patience will wear a little thin.
