I must say I have been to nearly everyone of the Stafford Shakespeare Festival's - absolutely brilliant. You get top quality Shakespeare in a beautiful location, breathtaking sets, brilliant cast, you can order top notch picnics or bring your own and its a beautiful way to spend an evening with a group of friends.

This year's looks set to be one of the best yet and its got the all weather grandstand in case the weather isn't glorious.

Got my tickets already as I know they are going fast for the main dates - cider at the ready, strawberries at the ready, rug and chill....
You work for the Council then do you Jamie?

What can I say ... its a great event
Indeed it is! If you have a little search around here (use the Search function at the top) you'll see that past reviews have been very, very positive. :)

Apologies for the paranoid accusations; one has to admit that if someone signs-up to an Internet forum specifically to praise an event, you're going to draw that kind of suspicion. ;)

Don't worry; the more time you spend around here and get to know people, they will cut you a bit more slack! :D

Went to see this tonight and thought it was excellent. Had a couple of showers mid performance but the actors just kept on going and did a brilliant job. Laughed my pants off. If you're having any thoughts about it i recommend going. A cracking night.

Always a good idea to remove pants before a shower

It was almost like a Shakespearian Panto but so much better. I'm jealous of those yet to go. Thou Hast Much Merriment Yet To Be Exercised In Thoust Present Time o Cometh.

Went on Friday evening! It poured hard all evening and it was cold but it was a fantastic performance. The actors kept going as if nothing unusual was happening although they tried not to slip over once or twice. The music was great. I shall go again but pick if possible an evening when there is no rain.....If you are new to Shakespeare, try this one.

I also went on Friday. I really enjoyed it. The last Shakespeare I remember seeing was Comedy of Errors with Rene Zagger, from the Bill fame, and it was completely different (as you would expect). I wonder what is on next year. I didn't manage to get a programme where it may have been advertised.
