Shooting in Northumbria

Just realised nobody has put anything on about the shooting in Northumbria.

The PC shot was David Rathband from Stafford. He has a twin brother Darren who is also a police officer but in New Zealand. Some of you may remember him from Weston Rd.

I'm sure we all wish him a speedy recovery.

Note - The current version of that article contains photographs, taken before he received treatment, that are not for the faint-hearted - and may be best avoided by anybody that knows him.

Also avoid the front page of the Stafford Newsletter.

These pictures seem to have been offered in a 'leave my family alone now' deal with the press.

I find this all quite exciting.... and im not a sicko... but you know what i mean? Anyone thought about going on a mission to Northumbira and trying to find him and get the £10000?! Would be awesome if you managed to get him!

Are you joking? You'd get more time that he would.

The 10k is for information which the police will disregard leading to nothing happening.

No i didn't mean like a viglante mission. I meant just to find where he is and then tell the police... Could be good fun, bit of a challenge. Get all ninja like...!

Steady on there dude, you're talking about using initiative, being proactive and potentially employing common sense. May I take this opportunity to remind you that this is the UK.....

How is it that when i watch Police Camera Action or any other myriad of police real life docs etc .... as soon as the Chopper goes up with its heat source camera the criminal is goosed, bang to rights and nabbed within 5 mins by the coppers on the ground. This dude in Newcastle pitched a tent and lights a camp fire under a tree and they didn't get him !!?!? most odd !

Thermal Imaging would not show up a Geordie because of his bad diet and high blood to steriod rate, also shell suits reflect the heat

I don't understand why they've sent so many armed policemen to flush the f***er out.

Send two Gurkhas - they'd have him within a few hours.

That's if he hadn't heard a couple of Gurkhas were on his case, in which case he would've handed himself in before they got anywhere near him.

Assuming he has any sense that is.

Haha. Exactly, were's Dog the Bounty hunter when you need him? :teef:

I spose with thermal imaging on police camera action they've got a decent idea that he's definately in the immediate area near his car but with this one he could be anywhere i spose... Do you think if its a hot night it's more difficult to use thermal imaging?!

What you doing with all these tents you 'festival goers'?. Selling them on to desperate geordie's?! :cops:

Nah, real geordies are 'ard and don't need tents. This mans a pussy, you only use a gun if you can't hack it on your own.

As for the thermal imaging videos on Police, Camera, Action, I doubt that they show the many where they never find anybody, just the ones that are 'televisual'.

I also suspect that, after six days of this, members of the public and policemen may actually be at more risk of being shot by a copper, but what else do you do? Apart from sending in a few of Withnail's Gurkhas - which seems an unlikely admission at this stage..
