Should we bail out Greece?

As Greece (and most other countries) owes so much money to the banks, surely any bail-out money from other countries, Europe and the IMF is going to go straight to the banks to pay the interest on the debt. I think Greece should default - why should our money go to the banks who lent to the Greeks. If Greece defaults the euro will lose its value and we can have cheap holidays in Greece!

Thank you for explaining double defualt swops to us

If I maybe so rude I think we should concern ourselves rather more with another round of Quantitative easing which is our own way of saying we are worth less than the Drachma and because people ( in general ) dont understand it, we are not taking to the streets - just yet..

More Ouzo anyone?

No we shouldn't bail out Greece or where would it end, every country could over spend knowning that they would be bailed out.

One of the (so called) advantages of not joining the Euro is that we wouldn't be called on to bail out failing euro countries!

The sooner we leave the EU the better!

If Greece goes back to the Drachma it will be 1/5 (one fifth) its value of when it left.

Under 25's in Greece are at 50% unemployment due to lack of work and lack of motivation to work from high taxes.

Depends if we trade with them and they buy a lot from us then yes but if we only buy from them. Its let them eat cake time and we can buy really cheap properties and have cheap holidays.

If Spain, Italy, Ireland and Portugal defaulted then whilst it would have an effect on us it will have a bigger one on France and Germany

One single currency only really works with one single administration

10 years of pretending its all going to balance out means another decade to ' rebalance ' the books

If the UK were in the Euro it would be included with Ireland Spain and Portugal

Greece is in a league of its own

Iceland with that ?

Are we bailing out the Greeks, et al, or are we bailing out the people who have made bets and lost?

Let then default, leave the EU and show what a Bureaucratic, expensive nonsense it has all been.

I'm fairly certain of the tin-pot idea went belly up we could still travel easily and trade well, just without Brusells telling me what a cucumber should look like and how I can way things!

Britain never left recession, only the Quantative Easing has masked it

Peak Oil will ensure recession lasts and may result in depression

More banks will 'fail' and this time there will be no bail out

UK Shares will crash, the pound will devalue and all our savings, pensions and property will have a token value

Aprt from that everything will be fine and dandy

;)
