I went to Bristol on a motorbike, just before that nasty, early December snowfall that happened some time in the mid/late 90s. By the time I was due to return here on Sunday, the full White Hell system was in operation. Official advice was that travel north of Gloucester was possible with four-wheel drive, but only up to Tewkesbury - beyond that, there was nothing..hardly a soul on the M6 for a Monday.
oh my, well good luck, I feel you might need it.I picked a really bad week for a Driving test
I would have needed it just as much if it was 24 degrees outside to be fairoh my, well good luck, I feel you might need it.

Good luck , hope the weather improves for it and it does go ahead. When is it?I picked a really bad week for a Driving test
Found this out the hard way on Saturday morning. Heading towards Queensway, car went sideways into the metal barrier on the left hand side.M6 is fine, side roads of West Bromwich are really bad, Stafford, even though they are clear, I assume black ice on New Look roundabout and Asda roundabout. Take it easy.
In the concentrations we use on our roads salt does not melt ice below minus eight degrees centigrade and is less effective at temperatures below minus five degrees centigrade.
Yes, the motorway route was the right answer.Krakow for a few days, for any Christmas markets.
Yes, the motorway is becoming favourite. I'm just a bit wary of getting stuck somewhere for a couple of hours without the chance to do a U-turn and try another route. But balance that against better gritting of motorways compared to A roads, It's going to be interesting, but hopefully not too interesting.
