Might as well give it a go I'm not sure if I'm being stupid here, but the VIP sign up form doesn't appear to be... well, doing anything at all really.

Is the signup past a certain sell-by date? Am I supposed to get confirmation of some variety after clicking Continue? All it seems to do is go back to the form to fill out details...

Oh also due to various reasons I don't have a picture ID available. The Facebook page says birth certificates are accepted as ID. Are the (I assume) bouncers going to know this too?

Edit: Okie dokie disregard the VIP tickets, it wanted a +44 on the mobile number, the site apparently didn't tell me that but told a friend who told me. Good times.

Still a wonder on the birth cert tho, it is almost painful to see someone you know for a fact is younger than you (and looks it!) wander in without being IDd then get caught with the pants down so to speak... Not even the most glorious stubble known to man can persuade an uninformed bouncer!

Unfortunately we can not accept a birth certificate as ID, we only accept driving licence, in date passport or a prove it card.

Ah well, it was to be expected. Unsure of whether it is an 'official' Facebook page or not but this one at least (pretty sure at least one other one had it too, can't find it now. Why wont you accept an out of date passport? Mine expired 4 years ago, doesn't mean my DOB has changed?

i would hazard a guess that the doorstaff will be pretty strict tonight.

opening night of a club venue that hasnt been open for a few years, licensing board to impress, police to keep happy and most importantly decent customers to retain and dross to sift out.

if the old door team has been replaced with a new contractor, id also say its pretty likely that the majority of doorstaff wont know anybody coming in and will be carding and searching everybody....theyd be daft if they didnt.

Ah also just remembered. The birth cert was combined with student card to prove I was me. Makes a bit more sense.

hold on, i've just realised tonight is the opening night.. there are still blokes fitting bits of wood together outside atm! lol

i know there have been some negative comments round here couture, but seriously i wish you all the best.. even though i'm a bit past it and will probably rarely end up going there, it won't hurt stafford to have a decent, committed nightclub..

cue shoes moaning about young people having fun and bringing about the decline of modern society, and how they should all be locked up and tortured and not allowed to fraternise with one another
