This says that they are average speed cameras..Slainte said:Any one spotted the new speed cameras on the M6 between j10 and j8?
Does anyone know if they are average speed cameras or if they are just normal speed cameras?
they are hidden behind the new electronic signs so you don't necessarily spot them
They're called variable mandatory speed limit cameras…Lucy said:They're for when the hard shoulder is being used as an extra lane.
A magistrate friend of mine does a steady trade in toll road speeders..John Marwood said:The M6 Toll Road does have overhead speed cameras in working service

I kinda hope they're not, I got a bit cocky 2 weeks ago with the ability of getting up to 65 by junction 10 and because I didn't see the yellow average speed cameras I thought I was ok...Trumpet said:The new cameras mounted on the overhead gantries are straight forward speed cameras. The average speed cameras are the yellow ones mounted in pairs on yellow poles. Several of the southbound (from J10a to J9) and all of the northbound (from J10 up) average speed cameras have now been removed. Don't know whether the new overhead gantry cameras are active yet though.
Chateau Pleck always gave me a grin. In my mind's eye picturing the vine covered slopes of Darlaston.John Marwood said:chateau pleck anyone?Slainte said:Any one spotted the new speed cameras on the M6 between j10 and j8?

I think the revenue generated by these scams should be invested into heavily subsidised track days for the community so that we can all get this want to speed out of our system. At the moment it's way too expensive for most people to affordUltraSBM said:You just cant speed anywhere any more... :-(
You could nearly see Halfpenny Green Vineyard from Chateau Pleck - on a clear day...Trumpet said:Chateau Pleck always gave me a grin. In my mind's eye picturing the vine covered slopes of Darlaston.
Lol i'm not advocating riding or driving like a cock on the public highway, regardless of how much track days cost, but i think that a lot of people would turn up if it was £10 for half a day, say 3 hours or something.skyline said:Agreed, they've given us fast bikes, flat tarmac, and a licence to ride. And then they go and stop us all speeding? Whats the hell in the point in smooth roads and fast cars/bikes then? Years of evolution wasted because of a pesky government
I thought this too, but many councils are getting rid of them as part of budget cuts so something doesn't quite add up.shoes said:...the amount raised by speed cameras is monumental...
