St Mary's Gate (off Tixall Road)

I walked past the (soon to be) St Mary's Gate development up by the Crem a couple of days ago and was shocked by what I saw, only because I didn't even know they were developing that site. I thought at first it was to do with the work Severn Trent are doing.....

Then when I looked at the plans I notice that they are finally linking up Tixall Road with Hydrant way which seems like it will be a bonus for a lot of people trying to get to the Tech Park / Hospital / Uni.....

Thoughts though:

1. Is it too much to hope that there is some joined up thinking and that the new road will include dedicated cycle space to link up with the new cycle bridge?
2. Will this likely lead to traffic lights on the Uni roundabout?
3. ....... no, 3 has been forgotten.... :)........ nope, its just come back to me... if they can create a cycle path on stilts from Baswich to Tixall Road and no-one complains... why can they not do the same with a road?

If you view the Stafford Map on the Stafford Borough adopted plan 2014, you will see that the dotted line for the "eastern bypass" goes from the University island, onto Hydrant way, meets up with Tixall Road, then meets up with St Thomas' Lane, then finally meets up with Baswich Lane north of the canal bridge.

Out of interest, anyone know the street names proposal for this estate?

On the Bovis Side the road names are as follows:

Bayswater Square > Hertford Place > Archford Gardens > Hadley Green

On the David Wilson Side the road names are as follows:

Bayswater Square > Winton Vale > Dewsbury Crescent > plus 2 others which have still got to be named

I once bought something from a bloke who lived on a housing estate where the roads were named after aircraft engines, and he didn't realise it...
