St Patricks Day/Night!

Hey everyone, I'm new here... Not new to Stafford you understand, been here about 6 years (god, is it that long?..) but new to these forums.

I believe I was told about these forums by a man named Ben, whilst round the 'bar code' house, so here I am.

Anyway, to the point of this post.. what is everyone doing for St Patricks this Saturday? I, for one, was thinking about going to the Surgery (original..) but possibly a pub crawl before hand. Whatever happens, I'm sure it'll be a good night :)

Meeting my old flatmate somewhere in London for some beer, before meeting forumites Rich Upsetter and A Child Rasputin and a couple of other ex-Staffordians for more beer and watching some women get nekkit!

Beer and nekkit women! Bargin. Am I to guess you're going to a London stripclub, or are the women in london night clubs more forward than my fragile mind (ha!) is used to? :)

Hehehe. Yeah, stripclub, although women's clothes do have a habit of falling off when I walk in a room. Ahem.

Haha, well if you're as funky as that monkey suggests, maybe that's partially true :P On a slightly separate note, I've just discovered from another thread that there's a national express bus that comes back from brum at 3am Friday and Saturday nights :D So me thinks i'll be taking advantage of that soon and heading down to some metal nights in birmingham! :)

So do you live in Stafford most the time, or coming back for holidays at easter? Not a teacher are you?!?! :P

Lived in London for about 4 and a half years. Not as a teacher, thank Christ.

Moving back to Stafford for good at the end of March.

Good point, London does seem crazy expensive, even when you take into account the inflated salaries. Stafford is alright if you've got transport I suppose, although that bus at 3am opens up a few more options :)

Easy now Taitou. Welcome to the forum innit. I'll be out in the 'nock for a mates birthday on St paddy's day. God help me!

Re getting back from brizzum then it's only £40-50 in a taxi so if there is enough of you thats cheap enough. If it's metal your after then check out my mates band that are playing in brum next tuesday at the medicine bar. I warn you though you have to be pretty hardcore metal :slayer: to get into them. These boys have osmium pumping round their veins :D

st patricks day in stafford surely = joxer o' bradys, to be sure.

im aiming to drink enough guiness to be awarded one of those floppy top hats that seem like a great idea when 'guinnessed' but in actuality are twattish.

Sofa

I'm a Staffooooooordian
I am rehearsing this very afternoon for a few tunes to be played in Joxers. I hope to see you there... I expect I'll be playing the Stafford Song too...

Ah-ha! I was in Joxers for the last jam night when the 'I'm a Staffoooordian song' was played, good lyrics I must say :) Might pop down tonight too, haven't decided yet. Joxers does sound like a good idea for St Patricks, but I'll still be gong to surgery afterwards, or the uni if they still do a rock night there?

Regarding birmingham, can't make it down for tues but i'll look into that band, thanks! :D

Biggin

Honourary Staffordian
Well I went to joxers, met some great forumites, got declared an honourary staffordian, and was also honoured to accompany sofa with the Staffordian song except I can't play that c# can't you change it to a c natural sofa? unfortunately couldn't stay until the evening, my missus don't let me out late. But it was a great day and I'm still leaking guiness.

Aye Biggin. Good to meet you in Joxers on Saturday for Guiness and music merriment. I think I can speak for all present that your musical talents are very impressive. Myself and Andreas are even muting the idea of learning the accordian!
