Here's an idea: gluten free options! And marking the food which DOES contain gluten when you wouldn't expect it to (i.e. chips)

hi everyone!!

im sorry there has been no updates from me in the last few days but as you are now aware we opened our doors last night so were now back in business.

Thanks for everyone’s comments, I am pleased to say that there will certainly been chips on the menu there will also be a range of different food from lunch menu to evening, don’t panic will still have the lovely pies :heyhey:

There is a nice selection of bottled cider, 7 ales including a few other formiliar drinks on the bar. offers on a pie and a pint between certan times.

We have a few events in the pipe line one of witch include our official opening night, I will keep you all updated once the first one is confirmed.

As most of you are aware we are a well known family pub as you will soon come to see there are plenty of familiar faces behind the bar there will be a children’s menu on offer, but also we now have the equipment to place a soft play area upstairs for your children to play while you enjoy your drink and food, witch include soft mats, ball pit lots of toy and so on, natrally there will be times in witch we can not provide this so please do be aware but also this forcility will only be available between certan times.

We are now taking bookings for both tables and functions so please feel free to call use on 01785 226108 we will be happy to help.

So I hope to see you all soon, and we start to see those familiar faces again

Excellent! That's exactly the sort of thing Stafford Forum is for. Too many local businesses come here, post an advert, and then we never see them again. Our users (affectionately known as Forumites) hate that, so you have done exactly the right thing here. :D

Indeed. Local businesses are only now starting to realise the importance of places like Stafford Forum, the free market research and feedback they can get, the level of customer interaction, etc.

I'd say you're definitely headed down a successful path, top totty! :D
i have to admit i only know of this place fom our customers but it is nice to have a place were they can come and air there views as with me i wouldnt really go to a manger and offer my opinion so please all keep them coming good or maybe not so all weather good or bad theres always things that can be done :)

I don't know if it's already been mentioned but,if you're having music, can it be set at a level where you can hear yrsen think please? There's nowt worse than havin keep shoutin in someones lugholes all night cos the music's all boom boom stuff. It would be nice to see the place as a 'proper pub',rather than go down the lines of the Castle Tavern just before it closed. I think the bloke running it wanted it be more like a trendy wine bar than a local pub. I agree with DB,good food, cozy and comfortable.
i defo agree with you there music is good but when you meet a few friends or family for a drink its nice to be able to talk and be able to here them, we do have music but it is background music but as i have always said if your ever at the stafford Ale House and find that the music was to loude mention this to staff and were all happy for nock it down for you. thanks :stafford:

indeed - i am a drum & bass/dubstep/metal/etc. fan, but when i go out for a drink and a bite to eat, i want to be able to enjoy the company i'm with & hear what they're saying!

obviously, at night time the volume can be turned up a little, natch ;)

pieminister pies are ok, but i have to say i preferred it when pie & ale swapped to tiggy's (or whichever local supplier it was).. more variety, fresher pies - aycan even put a couple on the menu at our request (i.e. he was in direct contact with whoever created them, so ordered bespoke pies if he felt demand would be high enough)!

i, personally, would rather see good, local stuff, than pieminister pies (which you can buy in saino's and tesco)..
i can tell you guys i no i havnt replied to you for couple of days but comments have been checked daily we are going to have a selection of both the pie's on the menu as this post has shown use ppl all like diffrent thing, so pie minister will be available also the company we were using before P&A closed, so if you have any sugestions feel free to mention.

I very much like the idea of somewhere offering free wi-fi - that would be a bid draw. I'm much more of a 'nice place for lunch' girl then I am a 'big night out' girl - Currently I like No. 15 or The Bank House for lunches, they've got an interesting selection of nice panini, proper baguettes, bagels, or wraps or something like that - It would be nice to have somewhere that isn't pub food, but does do bowls of chips, curly fries.

If you need to pull us in it also needs to have a good range of veggie options, more then just an apologetic mozzarella and tomato toastie. Thinking about, we used to go the the surgery a lot when it used to do food as it pretty much did the above.

I like nice cake, home made but not too fancy and decent selection of drinks, alcoholic and non alcoholic.

Music wise, a nice range of stuff in the day time, and I'm glad it's reopening because the function / space upstairs worked really well for events like The Ford Squad / Art Hole etc so it would be good to see that put to good use.
wuld be good to here the sort of things you would like on the viggie options, naturally we will have choices but always good to know what ppl would like if you dont mind :help:

Ooooo just thought of something. I don't think you'll be able to do anything about it though. Being a bit creaky, i use the downstairs loo, so have to go past the stairs. I will admit to finding the stairwell up extemely creepy and i'll even go as far as saying it scares me. No idea why, it's just a feeling i get everytime i'm there. It's worse when upstairs isn't used and it's dark.
Now i'm not expecting anything done as it's just me lol. Just wanted to say in case you ever see me practically running out of there lol.
G x
i no what you meen i have been working in the building over 2 years ow and still a bit scary x

there is historicly 3 ghost that we are aware of, we are working on getting all the history asfar back as we can as to the history of the building but we have found out that our building is the oldest in stafford :)
