Yeah they always knew this I think. They just signed a 3 year extension. I'm thinking they are disgusted at the lack of space for community projects such as theirs, as we all should be.Looking at the picture it would seem than The Shoe Shed, Tranquillity et all would all be demolished.

And it looks as if the Royal Mail Delivery Office will have moved out of town. And The Hollies site (Vets4Pets, Gym & Tonic and the Limes vaccination centre)
I also note that the number of 'homes' has gone up from 800 to 900. The homes are described as townhouses and apartments - townhouses meaning no gardens to speak of and no parking places, I presume. The original 800 were broken down as 150 townhouses and 650 apartments, so perhaps they are just going to add another storey the the apartment block(s).
It is also going to provide 'active green and blue spaces and public realm', but from the illustrations that will be made up of the existing balancing lake at the Martin Drive roundabout and the existing bowling green.
Selling up and leaving looks more appealing by the day, but that's a lot harder now.Interest rates need to be at 6% to bring down inflation
Do you want the Devil or the Deep Blue Sea ?
Those that we ( the people) elect into place.I genuinely have no clue on who dreams up this short termist shite.
Is there a 'good' cycle route from the Isabel Trail down by the balancing lakes to Astonfields Road - and is the junction with the Beaconside path a roundabout? It was a flight of steps last time I looked.I find this whole thing unbelievable, even for Stafford.
An empty shopping centre, oh yeah, let's build more shops. We can't even fill the new shopping centre let alone the existing town centre shops
The shift from office to home working, I know, let's build more offices.
Green space and community projects, concrete the lot.

Meanwhile this is Stafford cycling provision.... A bit rated v good or good, due to the inheritance of a disused railway line. Anything the council has been involved in, poor or non existant . No money in that see

The steep stairs are there,if you can find them when coming from beconside. Is there a 'good' cycle route from the Isabel Trail down by the balancing lakes to Astonfields Road - and is the junction with the Beaconside path a roundabout? It was a flight of steps last time I looked.
Yeah you needed to follow the little green line in to the Haybarns, then to the Sandon Road and then take a left. It's a decent bit of cycle route tbhThe steep stairs are there,if you can find them when coming from beconside.
There is also a flat route past some houses, again if you can find it.
This was me back and forth trying to find it

Has anyone read this plan thoroughly? It is full of inaccuracies and assumptions, and pictures of places that will look nothing like what gets inflicted on StaffordiansNot that my opinion will be considered, I completed the ‘have your say’ page. Broadly I said;
- Additional retail is unnecessary when 25% of current units are vacant
- Don’t use cladding type materials and actually make something that is architecturally worth having in the town.
- Housing actually needs to provide more than the minimum recommended space for occupants.

What is the occupancy rate of our fine town centre retail now the Guildhall is empty?
