(and me! - Ed)
I am sorry, but the talk is just babble, I didn't even listen to most of it! My son had a bottle tossed at him at 'V'. He rang us while we were in Cornwall, and said he had left A&E, after being told it would take 5 hours to be seen! The strips he had, had applied at 'V', had split in the night. After we had seen a photo' of the gash, we reccomended he return. After waiting 5 hours, he came away after being told he would still face a protacted wait! Thank god his eye seems to have clured up without to much scaring; IMO he should still have had a stitches! This is the same son who had a ruptured cruciate ligament, undiagnosed at Stafford A&E, and had to go to Oswestry for a reconstruction 3 years post accident. It was undiagnosed for 2 years, and came to light as he kept falling over! The happy end is that he has done well enough in his 'A' Levels to get into Liverpool Uni', his dreams of going to Loughboro' on the back of his football talent, distant memories.

If Stafford A&E has realy improved, then the only way we will be able to judge it, is by personal experience, and I'm afraid my most recent is well below standard.

OK I may be biased, after my pre enquirey experiance. My son is 18, and wasn't severally hurt, but having to wait well over 5 hours, for some one to start definative care, is not clever :( He'd been to the GP's and they had sent him up to A&E.

When sitting in A&E you get to watch a video screen with lots of annoying things on it like "Mid staffs is now on Facebook".

Like anyone gives a shit? how about firing all the PR people and sorting out the hospital.

I would tend to agree with the babble, it is just babble and more babble and more babble. They hired a professional camera crew to create this, is this really the best they can do in terms of publicised improvements, it beggers belief. It took 18 months to develop the document, two seconds to implement not telling anyone about it with no training. No consistency in its completion and all just before the launch of a computerised system which is imminent which will then negate the document. Don't get me started on the detail of the document and how it is actually not working and is a load of horse nuts.

People in Stafford deserve better

When I had a 'proper' job, I was once asked 'How can we improve our image?' I suggested that if we simply did it right then the image improvement would follow naturally. This was taken to be a very negative response..

Are you aware that the NHS privatisation bill is being pushed through proceedings right now?

No? Hardly a surprise as our media is shamely inept or colluding

All you experience now will seem trivial if the Bill is passed

What to do?

....
