Stafford, New Zealand

I know I've not been around here for a while, those who know me know I'm overseas. And the obvious highlight of my trip was visiting Stafford in New Zealand (click for bigger):

Who's that handsome devil? Why it's me! As you can see, I couldn't actually find a Stafford town sign, as it was a tiny place in the middle of nowhere with about 3 houses, an old cemetery, and, like much of New Zealand, a hell of a lot of sheep and cows. In fact the coolest thing to see in Stafford was a post box with a pair of bull horns on. I'd have taken a photo, but we were driving past. Here's a shot of typical Stafford (click):

And that's that. If anyone vaguely gives a shit about where I am and what I'm doing, me blog's at my blog.

See you all next February. Keep my seat warm.

Hehe I was thinking that. I've kept up with your happenings Monquey, but am shocked that this shot of the picturesque namesake of your very own hometown didn't make it into the selection on your blog! I'm not jealous in the slightest. Honest. Not sure about jumping off an ossin' great bridge tied to a rubber band mind....

Let's see...Stafford's population is about what? 120,000. I reckon Stafford NZ has about 2000 - but 1995 of those are cows or sheep. I don't think they could handle 1 town councillor on a jolly, let alone the whole council. They'll have to stick with that German town. Whatsitssocks Dreitsich or something.

I haven't got round to updating the blog in a bit. I felt it was more urgent that I get the news on Stafford NZ here first. Remember that. Also I beat jumping off a bridge. We both jumped out of a plane at 15,000 ft the other day. 10,000 ft freefall. Had parachutes and that though, so not THAT impressive.

Miss you all, but not THAT much. Fiji soon, then Chile. It's HARD.

Monquey, see if you can get some orders for Forum "Stafford, like Paris" tees from the locals over there. Apart from the striking architecture, does Stafford NZ have any other similarities with our Jewel in the Crown?
