Stafford shops closing - Turning into a ghost town?

Heard that the Judge and Jury including the hotel above will be closing shortly.

Also heard that Hogwarts is actually closing as well as Number 3.

I'm not bothered about Hogwarts closing really apart from wondering where the local pissheads will migrate to but losing the Judge and Number 3 is sad news.

That's gutting about No 3. I've been finding any excuse to go for lunch there and enjoyed their live music nights. Great place, great owners but the costs must have been horrendous in that location. Hopefully they will bounce back somewhere more affordable.

I dunno why , number 3 went from a small manageable place to the old pizza express place, it must have cost about triple what their old place did.

I'm sad about this one, loved sitting in the sun on the market square. I don't understand how the whole of Europe has towns that support a market square full of cafes with out door seating but Stafford can't sustain even one :(

Maybe it’s the weather? For the majority of the year, this country does not have good enough weather to be able to consistently sit outside to eat or drink.

Is the weather in the Netherlands. Belgium, Denmark, Poland for example any better? All have loads of outdoor cafes in the summer

Also it's stafford not ruddy paris, the only folk who sit out in the main street are the pathetic fag addicts

Where have you heard that hoegarths and number 3 are closing.

Number 3 released a post on social media stating that things were difficult but there were no plans to close.

Hoegarths are also booking in acts for 2023 and have stated that they have no plans to close.

Is the aquatics place under new management now? I remember they were looking to sell up a couple of years back?
It's been under new ownership for a few years. The previous owner traded as "Fish world" if I remember correctly....

So people who are in town and want to sit out are fag addicts? Behave. I don't smoke but enjoyed sitting in the sun with my friends having a natter and a drink after walking down to town with my dogs.
I think he meant that the ones one usually sees having a drink or a coffee outside are mainly smokers, rather than implying that that is as it should be. And he's right. Sadly. If you want to sit outside on a nice day and have a coffee and a chat in Stafford or Formby (the other place where I would do it most) one has to be prepared to breath in other people's smoke or shite flavoured vape. It's why I rarely sit out in towns in this country. In fact it's why I rarely go into town at all in Stafford because fecking vapes are everywhere.

Here in the Deep South, I'm currently sitting out in a square in Aix eating a paella and having an espresso with the current Mrs p because the weather is nice. About 40% of the cafes in Aix don't allow smoking in their outdoor seating areas. Even in our local village out in the arse end of nowhere, the café won't allow smoking outside. That and the better climate make the whole experience much more enjoyable.
