The MilkStop at the Hollybush In Seighford will permanently close on the 24th Dec.

The sites on Mill Street and in Newport will continue to trade.

Warren James in the Guildhall has used Christmas & New Year to clear out the shop. Just a few workmen in there when I walked past earlier this morning. I don't recall seeing any signs before Christmas saying it was closing, and there is a sign outside The Entertainer saying they aren't relocating the store when it closes next week.

Know someone in there early 20'ies who got a job after a looking for work for a long while! Was before the announcement of closure was made. The job has changed her noticeably, more outgoing and self confident, walks to work so has lost weight! Was gutted for her and her parents a few months ago when the announcement was made! Hopefully the change in her has made her much more employable, and she can find something soon. Have never experienced losing a job due to a closure, so can only imagine how people feel! ........ :ohno:

That's a shame . Used that a lot when in Stafford and the staff were always really friendly and helpful.

I am still genuinely surprised by the stores that remain in there. Surely the operational costs are higher than the revenue from the tiny amount of footfall?

The entertainer stand alone are closing one by one across the country I believe. They'll probably just keep a handful of standalone stores across the country which perform the best.

They've just signed a deal with Tesco to move into their stores instead in the UK , and expand into Europe.

Sounds more like a indirect takeover to me by Tesco, but they have been struggling for awhile.

Yes she had bloomed while working there, had gained fitness at well, lives in Holmcroft and walked to work & back! Was very positive about the saff and support and camaraderie!

After The Entertainer closes, it leaves The Fragrance Shop, Eurochange and F Hinds.

Not sure if The Liquor Tank is still open but the company behind it (Liquor Tank Ltd) have gone into liquidation owing £236,246.27.
And the administrators will eat all of any liquidation they achieve.

Source: just been a creditor to a company that went under, they sold the assets and all of that was immediately eaten up by the administrator.

HMRC is usually first in the queue.

HMRC is usually first in the queue.
As far as I am aware, the liquidator(s) will have their initial fee first, then any money remaining pays any other liquidation fees, then the secured/preferential (usually includes HMRC) creditors, then unsecured creditors.

Usually if there isn't enough money available in the bank account to pay the liquidators initial fee, then the directors have to pay it.
