Stafford shops opening - Turning into a boom town?

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but the new shop that has recently opened at the junction of Browning Street and the A34, next to Caprino's Pizza, has spelt Foregate incorrectly . The large sign above the door "Forgate Street Mini Market" in massive blue capital letters! I'm sure one of the previous businesses in the same building also had an obvious spelling mistake above the door but I think it was corrected. I mean, how does this kind of elementary mistake happen?
I am very pleased to report that this shop sign has now been corrected to read "Foregate Street Mini Market". Kudos to the innkeeper for rectifying this basic error - huge respect. The sign now flashes in multicolours too, you can't miss it - it's like Blackpool illuminations - it looks pretty swish to be honest! :bravo:

I've walked past and wasn't drawn in. I'm not sure who will to be honest. Limited footfall past and no parking.

Drove past, will pop in but looking at the flags on the signs unfortunately I doubt they'll have Latvian goods. Actually quite hard to come by in the UK, even though loads of Latvians come here. Lithuanian is much easier to find.

Maybe you aren't their target market. 🤷‍♂️
But even if I was there is nowhere to stop if I was driving and other more established places are available for Eastern european items. I can think of 3 other shops catering for that market within 400ms. Time will tell!

IME most of people I see around the other shops don't drive there either, they all seem to walk. From what I've seen a lot of these countries still have the culture of very local shops, just like we did 30 years ago, but the supermarkets are starting to take over just like they did here.

When I was a kid up coton fields we had shops on Oxford Gardens, Cambridge Street and Smallman Street that are all gone now. Only the Prospect Road and Charnley Road ones seem to have survived.

I was quite intrigued by which flags they'd put up and managed to work out what most of them are but there were a few I didn't recognise.
