Wilko site set to reopen under Poundland this Saturday, it will be open as is atm , the refurb won't be done till after the new year.

Worcester Wilko is reopening as Poundland tomorrow. Big refurbishment here. Lots of old stuff going to skips according to workman. Lots of Poundland lorries going past towards store tonight, even though looked well stocked already this morning.
Hope the Stafford new Poundland takes off as well!

I was in Stafford Poundland today and it was busier than I've seen Wilko in years

Another hair dresser, barber or nail bar opening on Salter Street next to 2 or 3 others

I know everyone needs to get their hair done but surely there’s a critical mass for this stuff?

Each individual stylist has a capacity limit though, they can only work so many hours a day / days a week - mine is booked up months in advance

I can believe that with hairdressers, less so with barbers where you seem to be able to walk-in at a moment’s notice

Men aren't as fussy? Weirdly my husband is ... he goes to a barbers where you sit & wait for whoever's available, but you can choose to wait for your favoured barber, which he does. He always thinks he's upset the others...but I think not....

Oh no yeah I get that, I just don’t see how it’s sustainable to have as many barbers as we do really

Maybe it's cos they realise they will soon be surrounded by very local customers?
Town centre accommodation has increased and continues to do so.

I walked through Salter street during the week and this barber had closed down so maybe its just a case of one closing and another similar business opening...

Walked past here earlier today and it's another barbers. Called Magic Scissors so guessing it is connected to the one just up the road by Yum Yums.

View attachment 14684Another Barbers opposite the Gatehouse opening soon!
And another barbers. How many do we need in Stafford...
