Yes, it's in the eating out bit - hopefully it will be open in time for the festive bakes season (my favourite christmas shopping tradition)

Makes sense, footfall must be fairly high and there is a lot of retail/council staff nearby for the lunch trade although it will be interesting to see the effect this has long term on the other 2 gregg's.

In the eating out bit where Nandos is? It's definitely in the shop bit next to Vision Express :) either that or the shop fitters have made a massive mistake..... Can't comment on the festive bakes as I never stray from the sausage rolls.... :)

Don't think it's been mentioned but Greggs are opening in the Riverside next to Vision Express...
I'd heard rumours a couple of times, away from this forum. First time I didn't believe it. Second time was just this last week and very credible. A unit has been fitted out with all the necessary pasty warmer-uppers. Glad they've fitted a door to the unit in the last week as it was going to be very difficult to get in! They've split a larger unit and there was only one door for two units!

To clarify @Wormella meant that the topic of Greggs opening had already been discussed yesterday "in the eating out bit", meaning the thread dedicated to watering holes and eating out in Stafford.

Probably a xmas shop, has been commonly over the last few years

I think I was being a bit optimistic thinking it was the frame for a stud wall yesterday. It appears to be an overly elaborate contraption to stand a card stand in front of, so yep guess it's a Christmas shop!

I suspect they’ll move from the Gregg’s next to Boots, as it’s the smaller premises.

My first thoughts were to agree with you - that maybe Greggs-related stuff should go in the "Pubs and Eating Out" thread. But then I thought, if you'd arranged to have lunch with your new boyfriend/girlfriend in Greggs, they're not likely to be too impressed.

Greggs primarily sell food - hey, they even provide a few tables where you can eat it - so maybe they should stay in the shops opening/closing threads like any other commodity. They're a shop rather than an eating or drinking establishment.

It's all a grey area - should the supermarket cafés be in Eating Out?

Some flexibility has to be accepted, I feel.
