I have suffered my third puncture in seven days today.

I am tempted to ride right in the middle of the lane rather than in the detritus that is the side of our roads at the moment.

If you take issue with that, then just be aware that i am on a VERY SHORT FUSE at the moment. I do not enjoy fixing punctures overmuch.

If you encounter a cyclist taking 'prime' over the next few weeks, be very wary of being too arsey about it. If you think you are somehow 'talented' at being all arsey, i look forward to tutoring you in the ways of arsiness.

Maybe time for new tyres? Plenty of puncture resistant options.

Two of them were in Schwalbe Marathon +s. TBF they're quite old, so may not be as robust as they once were.

The third had an entry and exit wound in the final analysis. Big feck off nail.

I'm quite a chilled cyclist normally.

Queensville Bridge is proper fecked at the moment - the aftermath of that accident a week or so ago is still abundantly apparent on both sides, much more so heading up from the roundabout. A roadsweeper would do the do.

I ended up pulling a dozen or so fragments of glass out of each of the Schwalbes before retiring hurt. Perhaps that's the current preferred method of removing glass from accident scenes - 'feck it, the cyclists will take it away in their tyres eventually' - but it's not mine.

I'm much calmer now.

It takes a special level of journalism to get so much wrong in one article. A job with the tabloids surely awaits.
