Excellent :) - you might want to have a look at this thread, there's a fair few photographers around these parts: http://www.staffordforum.com/xf/index.php?threads/photography-tips-tricks.3721/

The town is damn near cut off for pedestrians from the north - ambiguous and uninformative signage is leading to old dears wandering round the place in the pissing rain trying to get in/out across Gaol Square.

pain in the ass, not as such for me, wouldn't be surprised if they cut off 'alleyway' between salvation army and brighthouse, footpath closed, better not

Far too many old dears cluttering up Stafford, so the Highways dept decided to sort it out by mixing pedestrians and cars.

Anyone else noticed how the centre Town Centre Lane seems to be causing confusion, people Cutting up drivers heading for the Newport Road as they seem to think that's where the town centre is?

A lot of people give me the impression that they do it deliberately. It's been like that for a long time.

It does seem to be a poor use of the road - there's not many people heading into South Walls these days.

SCC don't want the riff raff passing their palace!
Used to be so simple to get across town, South Walls - Mill Bank. Now! Tesco's or Sainsbury's, chaos either way.

Had a nightmare leaving Stafford and travelling to and from J10 M6 today.

Tomorrow I need to be in Dudley for no later than 7pm. If I'm early I'm early, but can't risk being a minute late. Would anyone like to suggest a time I should consider setting off and which route they think may be the best to go?

Don't go down to 10. I work very close to it and can get down in the morning Wednesday to Friday but it's always awful at night, a knock on effect from the roadworks at 9. I don't know Dudley well enough to suggest alternative routes unfortunately.
