im quite happy to go with the general consensus for whatever we decide, so please voice your opinions.

just let me know that we are definitely doing something so i can book the time off work here and get a train tickets sorted etc.

Could they do a great big cake for those who may not be eating a full meal - or perhaps little individual Staffordforum cup cakes wit a candle each?

that's a bit civilised, innit?? i thought we'd do something along the lines of the garden party, but perhaps a bit better organised?

although, given that it's only a couple of weeks away, and it seems nothing has been decided, that might be a bit of a pipe dream lol..

Have to say ..like I always do of course!

Well up for the idea of a "gathering" which includes imbibing of strong alcohol but would suggest that it's simply just that , no frills meals, themes, or other variables that would need to be sorted booked and organised . Mainly as there's little time, secondly because it would mean someone would have to shoulder the responsibility and finally because adding too much to the pot might just put people off .

So suggest Keep it simple! AND NO NAME BADGES!!! or it would be like some high school reunion or somethin'

Just decide on

Venue, date, time

People can turn up and then see how it all plays out ..

ive managed to persuade the olds to come up and visit me on the 21st.....only so they can bring me back to the ford with them on the 22nd and i only have to get a single ticket on the train! :master:

....unless of course, bobby- when are you moving back to the ford? any chance of a lift back to the steel city if youre still abooot?

So we have a forum birthday, a persons birthday, and a members gig, all on the one night? Or at least all to be celebrated on one night?

As I just did a month long birthday celebration funds are pretty tight, so combining everything sounds like a better idea to me. I'll go wherever the forum birthday is, and hopefully see some others :)

It's also cornishjon's and bigsilverfish's bday on the 20th.....event overload!!

Oh I am but I'm not one for this self publicity lark .I would think mine should say

"take a mad guess"

Reason being is that it has been said that i type in the same way as I speak ( opens me up to all sorts of abuse I know ..but ..well )

Anyway I think T.A.M.G might be quite a good username actually

Something could perhaps be organised for the Friday or Saturday instead of the Thursday, that way most folks would not have to worry about work the next day. I'm sure there will be a few sore heads the next day. Just a thought.

well yes, a weekender would be most beneficial for us ex-pat staffordians. it doesnt mean that something cant go on on the thursday either. a first birthday of such magnitude(!) should be celebrated over a period of time. goodbye liver!

So the Forum Party is on Friday, and Jimbobs 30th Saturday? Mmm, I feel a hangover comin on. . .
