Kelly Massey fro m Wheaton Aston raced in the heats and semi final of the 4 x 400 womens relay to be replaced in the final. However BBC have confirmed that she will still get a bronze medal. There is also a long jumper from stoke who competed in the Olympics who came 8th in the long jump. Fantastic result for Staffordshire athletes.

Just imagine what we could do if we did not have an inept council who has a blatant disregard for Sports as demonstrated by there corrupt incompetence of the hockey club application....... (I wonder if they will be tempted to change now we have a gold medal in hockey) and the naivety they showed with the loss of Beaconside, despite a number of local clubs offering to take over the running etc. Our council is truly awful!!!!

Councillors are a funny breed, especially ours. They will do nothing to contribute to the success but they will basque in all its glory as if it was some how down to them!

I look forward to reading the awful Kenney and Hood claim that they single handily built the Stafford and Stone canoe club which helped Joe Clarke achieve a gold medal. The reality is,people in society have achieved things and will continue to do so despite the best efforts of councillors to ruin it!
