It's a 'thing' that he/she/they/them like to berate me on, on every single post I write & they write ...it makes them happy to belittle me.
Right...

*hitches up trousers to Simon Cowell height*

He thought that he was gently ribbing - he never intended it to be taken seriously.

I'm not going to even begin to pretend that it doesn't drive me mildly fecking potatoes when someone says they shouldn't 'of' said something that they, actually, shouldn't 'have'.

It just makes no sense - write ofn't as many times as is never eat cheese eat salmon sandwiches and remain young.

What a pretentious pratt & joined by the village idiots who liked your drivel post.
Has it really taken you six years to read that post? Were there too many big words for you?

For the record I liked the humour of @Withnail's post not necessarily the semantics of "of" versus "have" but grammatically he/she is quite correct.

From one of those village idiots that you mentioned.

The contraction for “should have” is “should’ve,” which is frequently used in spoken English. Due to the similarity in pronunciation between “should’ve” and “should of,” it’s easy to understand why this grammatical error arises.
It's far from the worst misuse of the English language though.
