Strange Occurance today

Hello,

Earlier today, at the large roundabout by the prison (sorry not good with road names, but you know the one, next to Cafe Nero and the site of the old town gate) there was a coach escorted by two police outriders on motorbikes. It was wierd, because one bike was zooming in front, lights blazing, to stop on the roundabout and halt traffic, so that the coach could go straight through a red light at speed. They then shot up past greyfriars, and I lost sight of them as they headed past LaSporta towards Eccleshall.

Anyways, anyone know what that was all aboot?

Did wonder if it was that, but I thought -

a) Why did they need to get AWAY from Stafford in such a hurry that demanded running red lights

b) If speed was of the essence that much, why travel in a crappy old coach?

i was thinking it was the alleged police storming of the Antelope that someone at work mentioned.

I saw a similar thing on Newport Road last week. Two police outriders escorting and old London bus along by the station, down Newport Rd by Tesco and off up Lichfield Rd. Seemed odd to me as the bus didn't have anyone on that I could see (obviously a driver was present!)
