Taxis Christmas day

I've spent the afternoon ringing around for a minibus from coven back to stafford for family members as I at work (bah humbug). Now, it's not very often we need to use a taxi but I was gobsmacked, not with the price so much just the attitude of staff.

2 companies both explained it would be quite expensive and both quoted £60-£70

Another quoted £90 and said they need to know by 6pm tonight.

And the final said and I quote "we are the cheapest in town and £130 is the best, your lying saying you can get in for £60 that would be only a car" and quite sharply slamming the phone down.

Now why is there so much difference in the prices. I know extra charges apply etc.. but how can there be £70 difference.

I think the £130 mob should be named...

I know there are firms in Burton who are not putting prices up on Christmas Day. Admittedly that is unhelpful for transport in the Coven area.

I calculated £40.60 one-way for tomorrow, using http://yourtaximeter.com/main#/main
It asks you for the date of travel, but can only assume holiday rate is factored in. Also doesn't ask about number of passengers.
Maybe it's of some help to you..
My rough guess for the middle of Coven to the middle of Stafford for an 8 seater on Christmas Day would be in the region of £60-£65.

Yes, Toble your company was one of the best quotes, but we chose to use the other one as we know the driver who is actually coming for us!
