"You never see a fat Vegan!" :ohno:

The person who inspired me to investigate veganism, having been a Vegetarian for 30 years, has gained about 3 stones since I have 'seen the light!' I have not increased at all. I am sure he has not been cheating, he's more strict with his interpretation of the code. If stuff is put to definitely thrown in the bin, this flagrant disgrace of NOT wasting consumable stuff, when half the world, (or more?) suffers food poverty, while the richer part of the world gains weight, while gorging .
itself to obesity, heart disease and diabetes!

SO,YOU CAN BE A FAT Vegan!.You do have to eat an awful amount of crisps, pizza & chocolate of course!

He might have a thyroid problem or some other medical reasons why he had put on weight. Not everyone who is overweight is that way because they are eating their way to Oblivion.

Or possibly a diabetic - both insulin and metformin can cause you to put on weight.
Oh yes, I can agree with that.

Also, I know a vegan, a very strict vegan, a very actively exercising vegan... That does at least 10k every day running or cycling... She's, a BIG vegan.... I'm guessing some people just gave that body frame....... I'm not vegan, but I store all my body fat on my belly, some people do on their legs, waist, hips, boobs.....everyone is different and unique...

Thanks for peoples concerns, I think littleme probably had it write. I wrote the thread, as a response to the countless people who have declared, "You don't see a fat Vegan!" :?: The individual I had in mind just eats a tremendous amount of high calorie food. And no longer exercises to the extent he used to, bit of a double whammy , am sure that has lead to his increase in girth!

A few posts under my belt
Hello, everyone? I believe this was the thread where a discussion was being had about the differences between vegetarian, plant-based, and vegan. I recently also experienced some virtual blank faces when I used the terms "vegan musical" and "vegan music." I believe my attached blog should shed some light on both topics:

Life, love, and liberty for all beings!

I've just spent two nights in Norwich with a friend that's vegan.

She said she would have been fine eating in any restaurant but we'd spotted a totally vegan one called Erpingham House and she'd eaten in one in Brighton so I said I'd give it a go. I tried fsh which was battered banana blossom and really enjoyed it.

Last night I found another vegan restaurant called the Tipsy Vegan and boy was the food good.

We shared the Arancini, the buttermilk slider burger, the spinach and chickpea stew, the cauliflower tacos and the Mac n cheese. Oh and I had some excellent vegan IPA beer.

Whilst I will still eat meat and dairy I will be definitely be trying vegan food more from now on. If only on the basis that it gives another dimension to the taste buds.
