We took Mrs Trumpet's son & his girlfriend here last night and frankly I was shocked. An attentive waitress (easy on the eye too!) Choice of wines from the normal wine list and choice of mains from the normal menu for the £12.95. I had surf & turf, 8oz steak, 6 scampis, chips, mushrooms, onion rings, salad garnish and a big prawn thrown on top. I was expecting reduced portions or a restricted menu but it was neither. The others all had steak of one sort or another and all was fine, only complaint was that mine was a little overdone, more medium than rare but I thought it would have been churlish to complain at the price. Two bottles of wine and four steak mains for £25.00, get in while you can!
Beer was on form and they had Saxon Clearwater still cider on tap, 6.6%, £3.20 a pint, tasted like apple wine, lovely.
All in all, price aside it was a vast improvement on last time I was in there, someone has certainly 'upped their game'!
