Hooperman,Please STOP, you're becoming a bit of a dick now!!!
It's fine to talk about beers and pubs but not in every single thread and you're spoiling everyone else's enjoyment of the Forum.
If that's your intent then congratulations you've achieved your aim but I'm sure that wasn't your intent really!!
No problem we all get carried away at times and some of your posts about the history of pubs can be quite interesting at times if posted in the correct thread.Hooperman,
Dick or not, I got carried away and am sorry for having annoyed a few members of this forum.
Called into the Holmcroft tonight to watch the United match and had the Smurf and Turf (no I didn't ask for my steak to be blue before you ask).
The food is basic pub grub but my meal was really good quality, reasonably priced and I thoroughly enjoyed eating it.
Would recommend if you're not looking for anything too fancy.

And a bottle of wine, perhaps?........Work meetings are much better with a bowl of chips nearby.
There is very little north of the wall you'd want to visit tbh, apart from the Kings Arms?I guess that’s the only pub in quite a large populated area ? Can’t really count the Luckpenny as it looks to be closed more than open, The Shire is Dire, does The Staffordshire Bull still exist? The Antelope? The Crispin? The Rifleman? The Greyhound soon to be gone, The Albion, Shepherds Bushes, Hop Pole? The Victoria, North End Club, The Falcon, Kings Head, Tillington Hotel? you wouldn’t go in the Waggon unless to make an arrest.
Perhaps the North End of Stafford has taken The Pledge?
Other cleaning products are available
Praise of sorts. And very convenient for Holmcroft Surgery.
Well having walked the three miles there, as is suggested for ones health, and not being able to get even a drink of water before the appointment a couple of pints of Banks's over the road afterwards is most welcome.Praise of sorts.
