He's either getting multiple loans or angel investors , the money must be going somewhere though. Apparently most of the equipment in there is rented, so how long before they start gaining access to the property n stripping assets ?

The ale kegs and the food in the kitchen will go off soon, such a waste.

N no doubt illy and coke will want their equipment back too, apparently the coffee machine there cost 4K.

They've gone

I believe the Manchester Living Room is the last survivor of a chain of bars that were ubiquitous in the early 2000s - the Liverpool branch was around the corner from the flat @Wormella & I shared. I'm 99.9% sure it's unaffiliated.

The company behind them now owns the Alchemist chain amongst other things & are associated with (possibly started & then sold?) the Botanist chain bars that seems to be everywhere.
You are correct. It's one of the places we pop into when we are in Manchester.

On facebook an 'official' person is claiming the staff stole the food/spirits, but another person is claiming the manager took loads with him when he went. TBH the official response looks like utter bullshit, and they've not replied to questions.

That wasn't you on the motorbike, taking a pop at it?
No, I've never been to Manchester on the bike.

It is Manchester though so drive-bys are to be expected. Nice place though, in spite of that.

My, so far, one and only experience of a drive-by was 17 years ago when I was in Beirut for a couple of days on business. Not a terrorist thing but a drugs thing it turned out. It was surprisingly not frightening as it was all over before we even realised it had happened. Bloke on the opposite pavement was left like a colander though apparently.

I booked a table for 2pm, received a reservation email. Not a particularly good email, as the google API seems to have an error and doesn't show a map. If you click on it you get a map, that puts them in the back room of the bird in hand. The contact email is lloyd@whitesandsgroupuk.com, odd for a director to be the one taking booking enquiries? They didn't try to contact me at all to mention they were closed, but then if they are still accepting bookings for other places that didn't open 18 months ago I shouldn't be surprised! Just wanted to test their live table reservation really, prove it was fake. I wonder where their next amazing venue won't open?

Let us know how it goes!?

I really think that the threads should be merged.

So many people are asking questions about living room/White Sands/Lloyd Waldron/ that have been discussed in length on the other thread.

It's just wasting people's time.

They are googling stuff, posting repetitive stuff, asking questions/duplicating face book/duplicating information that's all been discussed/answered days ago on the other thread.

It's obviously interesting enough that it should be given it's own thing...but couldn't all the posts from the other thread pertaining to White Sands be shifted over?

If the threads are merged, then all the Living Room posts end up in the generic "something is opening" thread - or they're moved individually. The odd repetition in here is bearable - as long as people stop adding to the generic thread with Living Room posts.

The posts pertaining to White Sands on the "new opening" thread could be moved to this thread.

To avoid any more repetitive stuff.

There's not been a post there today, since @1JKz posted a handy diversion - best left alone, I would say - if most of it is here now anyway.

Moved posts would arrive here in the same time slot as they were originally posted, so would be missed by most non-regulars, anyway.

Yes of course... Admin's the boss.

Its assuming though that people come on daily.

For example when regulars are missing posts, and asking questions that have been answered on the other thread then how confusing for the not so regular.

But no matter, things will move on soon enough.
