I am a big fan of the place but agree about the issues with regards to young children. I was in there a few weeks ago having a burger which was as always spot on, when the family on the table next to me decided they needed to change the babies nappy. They did this right in front of my very eyes!!! Utterly disgusting and completely out of order. I gave them a long hard stare and quickly moved round the other side of the bar. I know the bar staff work extremely hard and are always busy but surely this behaviour should be totally unacceptable and the family in question be told to leave? Would be nice to know peoples thoughts on this.
Hi, I've ran this joint for 4 years. I don't have children, I don't particularly like children, I prefer dogs. I run my bar and restaurant in this way. Dogs are welcome, children aren't catered for - no high chairs no kids menu. That said, other people like children and bring them with them.
If I had been on shift I would have had a quiet word, but I don't worry about this issue in general as very few children enter our establishment. It's not that kind of place.
I'm sorry you felt uncomfortable in this instance and I'll endeavour to keep atop any future similar situations.
