I thought this place was to be knocked down yet it now appears to have a massive To Let banner across it?

Primark / Debenams anyone?

It's in a shit location though and I used to remember it getting flooded quite a lot?

So did the Tesco in Walsall when I was younger, although I remember passing a lot of tramps in there while doing my shopping. Maybe the same for Stafford...?

According to a pal in the know, Primark have shown an interest yet declined due to state of the place seems somewhere in the region of 8m quid need spending on it to bring it up to their spec. Hence it's now up to let ......

You'd need a whole lot of cash to clean it up. Tramps have been using it as a urinal for years - and that was when it was still Tesco.

I think that you would need something more like 8M quid - rather than 8m quid, which would be slightly less than a penny.
