someone with a few quid spare could bag themselves a bargain when it does.

I'll chip in a tenner... who's with me.

A forum owned pub/restaurant/club, we could draft in Chris Lewis to manage it, call the place "The Swan 2", get AA silencers servicing the customers' Rolls Royce's whilst they dine, Jade can have a spot to outfit the "ladies wot lunch"....

We were talking on Facebook the other day about having a forum bar - perfect idea!

Seighford shows the way..!

We could 'theme' it - 'Bartender number two, please'...

Exactly Gram - what they are trying to do with the Seighford development is a brilliant idea. run by the people for the people - that catch phrase has maybe been used before!

I've just heard, through the grapevine that I hang on to, that The Post House are failing to pay their suppliers....but even worse than that, they've not paid their STAFF for roughly 9 weeks. Hmm.

As has been mentioned elsewhere in this thread, if you're the proprietor of an establishment in Stafford and are aware that people are talking about it, whether good or bad, surely you'd at least make the effort to counter the bad points or thank those who have praised your restaurant. Very odd.

I'll post this in The Post House thread too.
In fact you could stop cooking and selling drinks and spend your time answering comments on forums, tripadvisors, twitter, facebook etc etc.
Strange that because Posthouse don't comment they get slagged off. As if some are happy for a new business to fail. Then wll complain about 'empty buildings.'

Social media is an important part of marketing now, but TBH I've not seen much marketing from then in any form so shouldn't be suprised.

Thats a rather warped and to be honest, wildly innacurate view of peoples commnents on here... but you are entitled to your opinion, as is everyone else.

Visited the bistro at the weekend with friends. Once again it was really good. The service was pretty slow but we were enjoying our evening and so it wasn't a major hassle - we mentioned this to the waiter and he told us that the chef had walked out that afternoon and that they had to get emergency agency chef cover. Anyway the food was fine and as a gesture of goodwill for our wait they didn't charge us for the drinks and knocked 30% off the bill - can't say fairer than that.
This place is a gem, so what if it attracts people from outside of Stafford - if people are prepared to travel to visit it then it must be doing something right. I like the fact that it is individual and dare I say a little more expensive as it keeps out the Wetherspoon "two for a tenner microwave special" brigade.

All fair and good if they can get the customers, no point being exclusive but bankrupt. I hope they succeed, but really don't see myself as their sort of customer TBH. They need to cover a much wider area than Stafford itself to get the customers they seem to want.

Well at the weekend it was pretty rammed in the bistro and it was standing room only in both the cocktail lounge bit and the late bar area and so I can't see why anyone would think they are struggling. Have to confess I haven't been in during the week and so I have no idea what it is like then
It offers something different and attracts different people - neither are a bad thing

Like I said earlier it came from a now ex member of staff that someone I know trusts, they said the chef and staff left due to not getting paid for several weeks. The chef now is an agency one, maybe some of the waiting staff were too? As most reports say the staff were slow to responf then those working their nuts off could well be new!

The view is they may have come on to the forum a number of 1 time posters.

I don't think people want it to fail.

I've always questioned whether there were sufficient people in the area to support such a business, especially in the present economic climate.

Erm....they employ someone (there may be more than one, but I've only dealt with one) who deals specifically with their sales & marketing. They employ chefs for cooking and bartenders for selling drinks.

Being aware of what the public thinks of your establishment, whether good or bad, is extremely important. There are so many examples on the forum of how interacting with your customers can boost your business...I'm not going to start detailing them all as I'm sure you're perfectly aware of many of them already, but they prove that listening and responding is key to adjusting your goods/services to suit your market. As tek has said above, utilising social media is increasingly important for all types of businesses, and if you're aware that people are discussing your company on something like a local forum then it's strange that you wouldn't want to respond.
