Hundreds of establishments lose/sack their PLH (personal licence holder) every year often at very short notice and yet manage to continue trading. Previously premises management would apply to local JPs for a "Protection Order" for designated address. This has now been devolved the the local authority in this instance SBC, it is in the authority's interest to keep businesses operating and the PLH can be sanctioned in a day. However the police authority are involved in the current situation so delay is inevitable. An open and shut case? I don't think so............

Did I miss something? How are the police authority involved? Thought it was all to do with owner being declared bankrupt & everything (alcohol/entertainments licence) was (simply) changing hands?

You or I could sit a one day PLH course, yes that part is simple. Law enforcement involvement simply complicates this situation........

How do I edit this?

You appear to be evading the question, Sir. How are the police authority involved?

IIRC the police are involved in all new licenses, as they have to assess the impact of the clientele on the surrounding area. I'm guessing as this is no longer a renewal they need to give the nod?

TPH original notice fixed to the railings stated the stipulations of the re-licence application, henceforth they were not given the nod........

Still don't get it, how has this been allowed to happen, a drinks venue (some would argue), is without a drinks license; for some weeks.

Tough couple of months coming up, i fear.

Enjoying a drop of red.
It does seem very odd, this could happen. Which authority is holding the key to the licence being reissued?
Why does this have to be a problem with the authority? Maybe there are factors on the applicant's side of things that are holding things up and of concern...

Yeah, but it's like knowing your MOT's coming up and forgetting to put wheels on your motor, before the MOT test!

The way I read it was that they'd applied for a temporary license, but the bankruptcy happened afterwards therefore ensuring it could not be granted. TPH are saying that he is no longer there, but the police are saying that paperwork submitted named him?

I could be very wrong, but thats how I read it!
