Interesting advert (cough) for the Avometer in the back of my Radio Operators Handbook from the early 70's. The AVO (originally designed by the Post Office in the 20's) was once the 'must have' multimeter. Long gone now although I still have one I bought off Ebay.
"I'm not having any of these vaccines. You have no idea what's in them or what they might do to you. Anyway, I'm going to the nightclub, where I'm going to buy some dodgy tablets, off a complete stranger and swallow them."
I decided to pedal into Bude today on the back roads. Got halfway and the clouds opened up like a Gatling gun on steroids. This wasn't in the forecast, but I gave up and pedalled back .... wetter than a particularly wet haddock.
Once home I looked at the rain radar site to see this. Can anybody tell me why I didn't look at this before I set out.
